I started at Hamilton College in 1995 in J5. I loved the practical subjects in school and I will always be grateful for the help that I got from the teachers as it set me up for my career.

About the School

As a 3-18 non-denominational Christian independent school, Hamilton College is committed not only to excellence in the academic development of their pupils, but to caring individually for each child by offering first rate pastoral care and life-affirming experiences which encourage pupils to develop their existing strengths and talents.

The campus in Hamilton, with the Nursery, Junior and Senior Schools in one building, sits in 17 acres of grounds, benefiting from amazing views across Hamilton Park Racecourse and Strathclyde Country Park. It offers a countryside setting, while being a stone’s throw from the excellent facilities of Glasgow.

There are a wealth of opportunities at Hamilton College; from the academic, to the sporting, creative, and spiritual dimensions of school life. Academic standards are consistently well above national expectations. The progress of younger pupils exceeds expectations for their age and in the senior school, SQA data shows the College ‘adds value’ to the educational experience.

Children and young people are also encouraged to develop their talents in art, music and sport. Specialist teaching in these subjects begins in the Nursery with regular visits to the music department and use of the College’s excellent on-site sports facilities including a new, state of the art, all-weather sports pitch, the 25m indoor heated pool, two gymnasia and a games hall.

This broad educational experience encourages pupils to become well-rounded citizens who achieve excellent personal academic results, while realising they are part of a wider local, national and international community.
