Aftercare
The Aftercare facility is available for Junior School pupils whose parents require extra flexibility.
It operates from 3.15pm until 6.00pm Monday to Friday during term time.
Activities
Children can choose to sit quietly, do homework or participate in a variety of activities such as:
- Weekly Visit to Computer Suite
- Computer Games
- Crafts
- Air Hockey
- Snooker
- Role-play and dressing up
- Organised games
- Watching age-appropriate videos and DVDs
- Wii
- Outdoor activities
Booking a Place
Due to the popularity of this facility, places must be booked in advance. A restricted number of places are available to comply with Care Inspectorate regulations.
At the beginning of August all parents are asked by letter if they wish to book places for the following term. Requests should be sent to the school as soon as possible so that places can be allocated before the start of the session. An invoice will be issued at this stage.
Security
We place a high priority on the safety and well-being of our pupils. On arrival at Aftercare, each child is noted in the register and must be signed out on collection by the parent.
If someone other than a parent is collecting a child, the school must be notified in advance of whom the parent has appointed. This should always be a responsible adult. Password must be given.
Supervision
Our adult to child ratio is a maximum of 1:10. All supervisors have been checked by Disclosure Scotland and each is committed to the care and well-being of our children. Aftercare is currently staffed by Miss Forbes, Mrs Gilmour, Mrs Hoolahan and Mrs Rashid.
Fees
3.15pm - 5.00pm £5.40 per child
5.00pm - 6.00pm £4.40 per child
4.30pm - 5pm (After clubs) £2.85
Sports Activities during School Holidays
During the summer months SJB Leisure run camps in the school. These are open to children of all ages.
