Our PSE programme is embedded within Kindergarten, Nursery and Junior School. Within the Senior School each year group is timetabled for 1 period a week. A range of topics are covered across the year groups and include –
Anti-Bullying, Cyber-bullying, Internet Safety, Sex Education, Health Education, Smoking, Drugs, Alcohol, Study Skills, Careers, Options, Working As Part Of A Team, Financial Education, Work Experience, Citizenship , Discrimination (including Sectarianism) and Racism.
We also include many outside speakers in the upper school (S5/6), bringing a diverse and experienced insight to many other topics –
UCAS, RBS, SAAS, Royal Navy, some Universities, Racism, Blood Transfusion Service, Cancer Research, Organ Donation (Transplant Co-ordinators), Freedom School of Motoring, Heartstart, Alcohol, Health: Cancer (Teenage Cancer Trust), Disability, Healthy Minds (Samaritans), Drugs (Jericho House), Evaluate (Sex Education) and when possible Strathclyde Fire and Rescue Service.
Upon leaving school we hope to have equipped the pupils to become active contributors and responsible citizens, able to leave their mark, in a positive way, on the world around them.
