Hamilton College Basketball coach NBA Trip Hamilton

My wife and I travelled to Boston for a long weekend to go and see the Boston Celtics.  The most storied and successful NBA franchise to date.  On the 26th Jan, the Celtics played at home against the New York Knicks.  Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle played very well for the Knicks and the Celtics had to fight back to force overtime.  The Celtics lost the game down the stretch but it was a very exciting game nonetheless.  The TD Garden was so loud!!!

Saturday 28th Jan, the Celtics hosted their rivals, the Los Angeles Lakers, LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook.  My wife and I explored Boston in the afternoon before heading to a venue where Celtics legend, 2008 Champion & Finals MVP Paul Pierce aka 'The Truth'  was attending.  He signed my Bill Russell jersey which was a great experience alone.  However, things were just getting started.  We then entered the TD Garden and bumped into the Boston Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck, who turns out to be part Scottish!  After a brief chat, he allowed my wife and I to wear his 2008 championship ring and take a picture with him.  Unreal!  Seriously, all the surrounding fans were gobsmacked!

To top it all off, I met Damon Stoudamire on our final day in Boston.  Damon is currently an assistant coach with the Celtics but more importantly he was a fantastic point guard and a role model for many fans like me growing up.  In his younger days he won the NBA Rookie of the Year award in his 1995/96 season.  He earned the nickname `Mighty Mouse` as he stands 5`10", played with a lot of heart and never backed down.  He even has a mighty mouse tattoo!  He played his best years with the Toronto Raptors and the Portland Trailblazers during the 90s and early 2000s.  He was a beast!
