Dear Parents,
I am very pleased to announce that we will be resuming our in-school music instrumental tuition at Hamilton College from Monday 30th August. We will be doing this in accordance with the recent government guidelines for schools and proceeding with appropriate mitigations in place. I have contacted our visiting music tutors and they will be contacting you to arrange a first lesson if your child has already signed up or is in the process of signing up.
If your child is interested in taking up an instrument, I have included the Parental Agreement Form for your information. If you wish to proceed with application for tuition for your child, please sign and return by email to me at [email protected]. Within the form you will find the names of our tutors and all the instruments which are currently taught. Please also contact me if you have any questions or require further information.
School ensembles
I am also pleased to announce that our school ensembles will be resuming in the same week. Senior Choir will be on a Friday lunchtime in the Main Assembly Hall to ensure appropriate distancing and ventilation. The Orchestra will also resume on Thursday 2nd September after school from 3.45pm-5pm, also in the Main Assembly Hall with similar mitigations. Our Junior ensembles will begin on the week of the 23rd August with Junior Choir (J4-6) rehearsals taking place on Wednesday lunchtime and Training Orchestra (J4-6) taking place on a Friday lunchtime. I would like to invite our Transitus musicians to join the Senior Choir and Orchestra this year if they so wish.
This is a pleasing step forward for our musical community at Hamilton College and I am very much looking forward to working with our young people and nurturing the skills and creativity in all our pupils through the various stages in the years ahead. I intend to do this, not only in Music, but also in Art and RMPS. I hope to combine the wide-ranging talents of our pupils in Faculty showcases, displaying all the wonderful pupil artwork and also providing opportunities for the deep-thinking minds of our RMPS pupils.
I will always aim to maintain the high standards and traditions of the school with also looking ahead to find exciting new directions to explore.
If you require any further information relating to any of the points above, please do not hesitate to get in contact with me.
Kind regards,
Mr Graeme Scott
