Dear Parents

Our priority in the current circumstances is to minimise the risk of infection across our Hamilton College community and beyond.  This is to protect our pupils, their families and those who are most vulnerable.

To this end, I would remind parents and carers of the following –

1.         Please do not congregate or socialise within the school grounds – the Government policy on 2m social distancing should be complied with.
2.         Only one parent should drop younger pupils at Nursery and up to J1.  Now that pupils are settled and into a routine, could all other parents please remain in the car park unless access to the school is required.
3.         All families must comply with the Government’s quarantine rules as regards travelling out-with the UK
4.         Up to date information on what to do if you / your family display symptoms can be found here.

In this respect, please do not attend school where a pupil has symptoms or tested positive or where someone who lives with a pupil has symptoms or has tested positive or where someone in a pupil’s support bubble has symptoms or has tested positive or NHS / Track & Trace has told the pupil to self-isolate.

5.         Information on how to access a Test can be found here
6.         Please note that although social distancing rules have been relaxed by the Government as regards schools, the general rules for social distancing remain in play and can be accessed here

As you will be aware, the Scottish Government is in the final stages of consulting with teachers and local authorities for the use of face coverings in secondary schools when moving around corridors and in communal spaces.  We will update parents as soon as we hear further.

We very much appreciate your co-operation and understanding in this respect.

Katie Morton
Chief Executive Officer
